Ingredients:
Honey | 1 tablespoon |
Water | 2 tablespoons |
White bread | 2 slices |
Apple | 1 medium /thinly sliced |
Dried figs | 3/ halved |
Milk | 1⁄2 a cup |
Eggs | 2 whole |
Sugar | 2 tablespoons |
Cinnamon | 1⁄2 teaspoon |
Powdered sugar | 1 teaspoon |
Preparation:
Preheat oven (medium temperature). Mix honey & water in small hot. Stir on low heat till
honey is completely dissolved. Un-crust your bread and cut diagonally. Spread bread with
honey mix. Mix & stir milk, eggs and sugar in a bowl. Sift this mixture to remove foam & extra
fat. Take a rectangular baking dish and place bread topped with sliced apple & figs at the
bottom. Pour half of the Milk mixture on the bread. Leave to rest for 5 minutes. Pour in the
other half. Sprinkle cinnamon on top. Place the dish in a large pot. Pour hot boiling water in
the pot. Hot water must reach your baking dish half way. Place pudding uncovered in oven
for 45 minutes till the surface forms a golden brown crust. Sprinkle a pinch of powdered
sugar before serving.
